Chris Bernabe
Managing Director and Co-founder
Chris is a Mechanical Engineer and former tradesman with two decades of operational, project and integrity experience across LNG, offshore, mining and industrial assets. His background spans field service, shutdowns, diagnostics, engineering and operator-side roles, giving him a practical, end-to-end understanding of how assets behave and how degradation accumulates.
As Managing Director and Co-Founder of Red Tail Group, Chris leads the development of preservation strategies, corrosion programs and idle-asset frameworks that protect equipment life across construction, commissioning, care and maintenance, lay-up and de-commissioning. He translates integrity requirements into executable systems embedded into project delivery, shutdown planning and operational workflows, preventing rework, avoiding restart delays and safeguarding asset value.
Chris works with operators, EPCMs and project teams to set strategy, align stakeholders and embed governance from day one, ensuring assets remain fit-for-service in high-exposure environments where preservation failures carry significant operational, safety and commercial consequences.
Duncan Nicholas
Co-Founder and Director
Duncan brings three decades of experience, including long-tenured operator-side roles across trades, HSE and engineering, giving him a practical understanding of how assets are operated, maintained and protected under real-world conditions. As Co-Founder and Director of Red Tail Group, he holds delivery oversight and coordinates preservation across major operating assets, ensuring programs are executed cleanly and aligned with site requirements.
His background in frontline operations, shutdowns and maintenance planning allows him to integrate preservation into existing workflows, manage interfaces and keep scope moving under tight windows. Duncan works directly with operators and project teams to align execution, maintain control of critical components and ensure assets remain protected and ready for service.
