Preservation & Maintenance

Equipment preservation for idle, stored or operating assets

Equipment degrades. Red Tail Group preserves and maintains all types of equipment and assets by controlling corrosion, moisture ingress and deterioration, avoiding costly repairs, refurbishment or replacement. Preservation is targeted and applied where required, keeping assets in fit-for-service condition and ready to support your operations.

What we preserve

Critical equipment, kept fit for service

We preserve across the full asset base, applying inhibitors, protection systems, moisture control and inspection regimes matched to each item, environment and degradation mode so equipment remains reliable through idle, stored or operating states.

  • Rotating equipment: engines, turbines, pumps
  • Static equipment: structures, supports, voids
  • Electrical and instrumentation: cabinets, junction boxes
  • Fixed and mobile equipment: conveyors, trucks
  • Critical spares and idle equipment
  • Tanks, vessels and skids
  • Piping, modules and valves
  • Hydraulic systems

Scope of service

Across the full equipment lifecycle

01

Lifecycle preservation

Preservation applied from engineering and fabrication through FAT, transport, storage, integration, SAT, commissioning, operation, shutdown, care and maintenance and decommissioning. Controls include sealing, moisture control, protection systems, inspection intervals and preservation records matched to each item and degradation mode so equipment remains reliable through every lifecycle state.

02

Internal and external corrosion control

Internal and external corrosion controlled through soluble and vapour phase inhibitors, moisture control, sealing and protection systems matched to each asset and environment. These controls prevent degradation during storage, transport, installation, commissioning, operation and shutdown, maintaining readiness across the full equipment lifecycle.

03

Long term preservation programs

Rig stacking, mine and refinery mothballing, fleet standby and extended outages supported with long term preservation programs that prevent degradation, maintain useful operating life and ensure equipment can return to service without costly refurbishment or replacement. Care and maintenance continues these programs across extended idle states, preserving equipment without loss of useful operating life and maintaining readiness for restart.

Care and maintenance covers rig stacking services, fleet standby, mothballing of process units, mine and refinery mothballing, and extended production outages, preserving equipment without loss of useful operating life.

How we do it

Engineered preservation controls

We achieve total asset preservation using vapour corrosion inhibitors, soluble corrosion inhibitors, moisture control, sealing and protection systems matched to each asset, environment and degradation mode. Controls are applied across storage, transport, integration, installation, commissioning, operation and shutdown, including corrosion under insulation protection. All preservation controls are recorded, traceable and reinstated as equipment moves through its lifecycle, ensuring assets remain fit for service.

Targeted preservation across the asset base

We achieve total asset preservation using proprietary volatile corrosion inhibitors (VCIs) and soluble corrosion inhibitors (SCIs), matched to each asset and environment. Applied as films, papers, foggables, capsules, tapes and additives across storage, transport and shutdowns, including corrosion under insulation (CUI) protection.
